Our resident historian, Tracey Randle, enlightens us on the customs of the early Cape inhabitants and what exactly they did to entertain themselves in an age before TV, internet and emails or chatting to friends 24/7 with the aid of our smart phones.
Spending ‘real’ time with each other was the order of the day and the Cape was especially noted for its hospitality. Whilst visiting with friends for tea it was not uncommon for your host to also share a biscuit which is still a South African favourite today. Click here
